Description
Simpurity Silver Alginate dressings are made of natural fibers derived from seaweed through a series of
special processes. It is designed to be fast-acting and highly absorbent. The dressing absorbs exudates
and forms a gel-like covering over the wound, maintaining a moist environment for wound healing. The
gel-like surface also keeps the dressing from adhering to the wound so it promotes painless removal.
This feature makes dressing changes easier and saves time for both the patient and the health care
professional. Simpurity Silver Alginate dressing can inhibit bacteria growing in the wound bed and
reduce infection. The Simpurity Silver Alginate dressing has been tested in vitro and found to be
effective against bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus
pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Contra-Indications
Simpurity Silver Alginate Dressings are not indicated for use on the following:
• Patients with known sensitivity to silver
• Third-degree burns
